More on the AZ room!

I guess it was a little naive on our part to think we could just build around the existing frame of the room after removing the old worn out screen.  Not!
We wanted an enclosed room for more living space and we wanted to extend the length of the porch to have some space for the grill.

After tearing down the old screen and framing we found a lot of rotten boards so before long we had things torn down to pretty much just a few floor planks.  When I say we I am referring to Mr. R and my brothers.  My job is the vision and keeping them fed. J
Unfortunately I do not have a picture of what it looked like after the tear down, but this is one that shows how it looked after new deck boards where added and the porch was extended in length.

The prior porch stopped just before the window.  This picture shows that the new enclosed porch is starting to take shape! Framed up and windows and doors installed!

Taking shape even more!

A view of the front porch and entrance into the new enclosed porch!

A view of the new back extension that holds the grill

A view after planting some bougainvillea.  We are hoping they will climb up the trellis and give us a big splash of color.

Next post will take us inside! Let me know what you think so far, please leave a comment.

Welcome to the Rose Garden

Welcome, My husband (Mr. R we will call him) and I moved to AZ from Green Bay WI.  I just could not handle the long cold winters there anymore.  I am lucky enough to have a job that let’s me work from home so as long as I have an internet connection I am good to go!

My Grandparents retired too AZ back in the mid sixty’s so my family has been coming out here to visit ever since and some of us have decided to stay!  Mr. R and I found a cozy 55+ community with a 1980’s manufactured home fixer upper that we have been working on to update or gussy up as I would say!

I believe any space you live in should be comfortable and made to feel like it is a reflection of you.  While we will not be spending a lot on any major remodeling I hope you find some useful tips and get inspired to gussy up your space no matter what it is!

Please forgive the quality of these before pictures they were taken by a phone camera long before I ever thought I would be blogging.

This is the outside of the AZ screen room.

I hope you will come back to see the progress!
